This week YouTube celebrates its 10 year anniversary. í‚ We don’t know about you, but it is hard to believe YouTube is onlyí‚ a decade old. Somehow it just feels like one of those internet institutions that we’ve always just…had.
It’s interesting to think that from such humble beginnings, YouTube now has billions of users, with almost 1 billion unique viewers every month. í‚ That’s 1 out of every 7 people on the planet. í‚ If that staggering statistic isn’t enough to get you thinking about how you can harness the power of video for your own advantage, than nothing will!
The beauty of video is that it can engage with your audience in a way that the written word can’t do quite as nimbly. It can emotionally connect people to your company, your product, your way of doing things. And once you have audience engagement, your sales are proven toí‚ increase.
Here is a super example of an emotionally engaging video
Brilliantly launched just a month before Mother’s Day, this video from Pandora Jewelry has no dialogue. í‚ There’s no mention of their products (with the exception of some jewelry worn by the moms). But this video is sure to have its viewers thinking about their charms and other gifts with the approaching holiday. í‚ They have made themselves top of mind without being obnoxious about it.
Surely you’re thinking, “Yeah, that’s great and easy for a jewelry company. í‚ They sell jewelry.í‚ We sell an industrial product/service that is difficult to explain, to a niche market, that has a fair amount of technical lingo involved. How can we do that?”
We got you.
Your story is the one we love. í‚ The technical product with the awesome people selling it. í‚ The company needing to clarify just what it is that they do. í‚ That communication is everything. í‚ By letting your customers see behind the curtain into your corporate culture and personality, you create an emotional connection. í‚ Here’s a recent example
Quaero is one of those businesses that has a product that is difficult to explain. í‚ After spending a few days shooting there, even we aren’t 100% sure we know everything that they do. í‚ But this video goes beyond their product and explains their work culture. í‚ They have an awesome space that is a fun place to work. í‚ They believe in teamwork and great people making them successful. í‚ By showing you this in a video you really get a feel for the type of company they are. í‚ And you totally want a ping pong table in your office.
While the video didn’t strike an emotional chord that left you weepy, you still have a greater connection with this company than you would have if you just read the company’s mission statement. í‚ That is what a video can do for you.
So let us know how we can help. í‚ Let’s get your story told on YouTube!
